Campaign in Boone County, Ark. supports 1 Million Meals initiative.

HARRISON, Ark. – Students and teachers in the Bergman School District recently raised $600.10 during a one-week campaign to help reduce hunger in North Central Arkansas.

The fundraiser was in support of Arvest Bank’s 1 Million Meals initiative, a two-month food and funds drive to collect the equivalent of one million meals for local food partners across the four-state area Arvest serves. In Boone County, all donations made to the 1 Million Meals campaign benefit Ozark Share and Care.
Students held a “Crazy Hat Day” and asked for donations to the campaign in order to participate. Teachers had the opportunity to participate in a Jeans Day in exchange for a donation.

“This is a wonderful contribution from these students and their teachers and we appreciate their commitment to help us reduce hunger in our area,” said Scott Tennyson, market president for Arvest Bank in Harrison. “Every dollar provides five meals for those who are hungry so their donation translates into three thousand meals!”

Residents of North Central Arkansas can participate in Arvest Bank’s 1 Million Meals campaign through June 3 by donating nonperishable food items or monetary donations at any Arvest Bank location in the area. For additional information, visit www.arvest.com/millionmeals
